Only 43% of Americans Would Vote
To Re-elect President Obama

Washington, D.C. — The number of Americans who would vote to re-elect President Obama continues to shrink. According to a recent poll conducted by Zogby International January 19-21, only 43 percent of Americans would vote for Obama if the presidential election were held next month.

   The Zogby poll asked:

   If the presidential elections were held next month, would you vote to re-elect President Obama or would it be time for someone new in the White House?

   Just 43 percent of voters say they would vote to re-elect Obama and 50 percent say it is time for someone new to be President (8 percent are not sure). (Numbers add to more than 100 due to rounding.)

   Among Independent voters, only 30 percent would vote to re-elect Obama and 60 percent say it is time for someone new (10 percent are not sure).

   Only 34 percent of small business owners would vote to re-elect Obama and 58 percent say it is time for someone new (7 percent are not sure). (Numbers add to less than 100 due to rounding.)

   The Zogby International poll was commissioned by The O'Leary Report newsletter. The Poll surveyed 2,377 voters January 19-21, and has a margin-of-error of plus-or-minus 2.0 percentage points. ###
